Swedish fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz AB on Wednesday said profits fell by 11 percent in the second quarter due to the strong Swedish krona and increased markdowns as it tried to shift its products. H&M CEO Karl-Johan Persson said the krona's strength weighed on the result, while sales in local currencies increased by 5 percent.
Transformer fire causes power failure in Prague

Czech authorities say they are investigating an overnight explosion and fire in a transformer in Prague that caused a power failure in large sections of the capital. Spokeswoman for the grid operator CEPS Tereza Soukupova says nobody was injured in the blast and fire. Soukupova said Wednesday authorities still don't know the cause.
Senator: IRS to pay $70M in employee bonuses
