Curt Schilling and executives of his bankrupt video game company "disclosed everything" to Rhode Island's economic development agency before being granted a $75 million loan guarantee, a lawyer told a judge Wednesday in arguing he should dismiss a lawsuit against them. Connolly said that included the fact that 38 Studios needed more money than it was getting from a bond sale to complete a video game it was developing and to relocate from Massachusetts to Rhode Island, a requirement of the deal.
Path unclear if LePage vetoes Maine hospital bill

Paul LePage's office made it clear Wednesday he'll veto a bill to pay off a $484 million debt to Maine hospitals because of an amendment to expand Medicaid, Democrats professed hope the Republican governor will relent and considered passage a victory. But the governor's spokeswoman, Adrienne Bennett, said she anticipates a veto if the bill reaches LePage's desk in its current form.

Work on the 132-megawatt power plant _ on track to be Wyoming's largest gas-fired plant _ began a few weeks ago. The $222 million plant will employ up to a dozen people once it's finished next year.
Little done in Brazil to improve safety after fire

Little has been done to improve the safety of public gathering places since a nightclub fire killed 242 people earlier this year in southern Brazil, relatives of the victims said Wednesday. "Almost nothing has been done to improve the safety of nightclubs," said Adherbal Alves Ferreira, whose 22-year-old daughter, Jennefer, perished in the fire. "We need more vigorous laws and demand they be followed and obeyed."
