The strategies Apple uses are legal, and many other multinational corporations use similar tax techniques to avoid paying U.S. income taxes on profits they reap overseas. But Apple uses a unique twist, the report found. The company's tactics raise questions about loopholes in the U.S. tax code, lawmakers say.
Federal judge weighs fate of Corbett suit vs. NCAA

A federal judge in Pennsylvania says she'll decide in the next couple weeks whether to dismiss Gov. Tom Corbett's antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA over penalties against Penn State. U.S. Judge Yvette Kane had pointed questions for both sides during a nearly two-hour hearing Monday. Corbett says the NCAA went too far in getting Penn State to agree last summer to a $60 million fine, a multiyear ban on postseason football play and a temporary reduction in scholarships.
