The U.S. foiled a plot to bomb the New York Stock Exchange because of the sweeping surveillance programs at the heart of a debate over national security and personal privacy, officials said Tuesday at a rare open hearing on intelligence _ a set-piece for supporters of the snooping. Army Gen. Keith Alexander, director of the National Security Agency, said the two recently disclosed programs _ one that gathers U.S. phone records and another that is designed to track the use of U.S.-based Internet servers by foreigners with possible links to terrorism _ are critical. Conceptual design for new Falcons stadium approved

The conceptual design for a new Falcons stadium in downtown Atlanta has been approved. The Georgia World Congress Center Authority's board of governors approved the design at a meeting Tuesday. The proposal by 360 Architecture is meant to provide direction for ongoing design work and doesn't necessarily represent the final structure. It includes an exterior meant to invoke falcon wings and giant windows to showcase a view of the city at night.
Aerospace company to expand in Oklahoma

An Australian aerospace company says it will open a facility in Grove, Okla. and hire 20 workers. Gov. Mary Fallin announced Tuesday that Ferra Engineering would expand in Oklahoma. The governor made the announcement from the Paris Air Show. Fallin says Oklahoma is a top destination for aerospace companies and she's pleased Ferra Engineering would be adding the Grove location.
