Shares drop of full-body scanner maker OSI Systems

Shares of OSI Systems Inc. tumbled Monday after the company said the government had begun proceedings related to its full-body scanners used in airports that had raised privacy concerns. The move could hurt OSI's U.S. government business. THE BIG PICTURE: The scanners are designed to spot metallic objects like guns and non-metallic items such as plastic explosives. But the scanners also showed naked images of passengers' bodies. That had prompted Congress to order that they either produce a more generic image or be removed by June.
Fresh Market hires Sealy exec as CFO

The Fresh Market Inc. said Monday that it has appointed Jeffrey Ackerman as its executive vice president and chief financial officer of the specialty grocery chain. Fresh Market's prior CFO left the company in December for a job at a privately held clothing company. The company said in a statement that Ackerman's selection came after a national search and that it is pleased to have found someone with his strong leadership skills and financial expertise.

Barshack filed the lawsuit in Idaho's 5th District Court with his lawyer and wife, Erin Smith, this month, arguing he began using the Twitter handle in April 2010.
