An 87-year-old grandmother took on billionaire Donald Trump. And on Thursday _ she lost. The federal jury in Chicago returned with a finding in Trump's favor after deliberating for more than five hours over two days. Goldberg, of Evanston, had sought damages totaling around $6 million. "He's obviously very happy," said Alan Garten, an executive vice president of The Trump Organization, after talking with his boss _ who wasn't in court. In the wake of the trial, Garten added, "The Trump brand is stronger than ever."

Ohio kidnap case hero gets year of free McDonald's

The man who famously put down his Big Mac to help rescue three women held captive for years in a Cleveland house will get free McDonald's for the next year, a company spokeswoman confirmed Thursday. Ramsey was called a hero after helping Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight break out of the house May 6. Homeowner Ariel Castro faces charges. His defense team has said he will plead not guilty.

States to NRC: Better nuclear waste rules needed

Attorneys general in Vermont, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut announced Thursday they are petitioning the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a more thorough environmental review of storage of highly radioactive nuclear waste at plant sites. "Federal law requires that the NRC analyze the environmental dangers of storing spent nuclear fuel at reactors that were not designed for long-term storage," said Vermont Attorney General William Sorrell.
