McDonald's can't shake criticism about nutrition

McDonald's once again faced criticism that it's a purveyor of junk food that markets to children at its annual shareholder meeting Thursday. But at its shareholder meeting, McDonald's was taken to task by speakers associated with an advocacy group about its menu and marketing toward kids. As with other shareholder meetings, McDonald's Corp. allotted about a half-hour for anyone who owned its stock to address its top executives.
Payne back on the road with 'Nebraska' at Cannes

Shooting the Midwest in monochrome came naturally for Alexander Payne in his father-son road trip "Nebraska." "It just seemed like the right thing to do for this film," Payne told reporters Thursday at the French Riviera festival. "I always wanted to make a film in black and white. It's such a beautiful form. It really left our cinema because of commercial, not artistic reasons."
