It's all about the Fed. Still. The market's gains were steady and broad. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 12.77 points, or 0.8 percent, to 1,651.81. All 10 of its sectors rose, led by industrial and telecommunications companies. The Russell 2000, an index of smaller companies, closed at a record high but fell just shy of the 1,000-point milestone.
Austrian construction company says it's insolvent

Alpine Bau GmbH, one of Austria's biggest construction companies, says it is insolvent. In making the announcement Tuesday, the company said it is seeking a reorganization plan that would allow parts of the conglomerate to continue functioning. A statement issued by Alpine said it was not possible to reorganize internally, "despite significant support from financing banks and intensive efforts of the owner."
Glass Lewis urges change at Commonwealth REIT

Proxy advisory firm Glass Lewis & Co. has backed two activist investors' efforts and recommended Tuesday that shareholders of Commonwealth REIT vote to remove its entire board of trustees. Corvex Management LP and Related Fund Management LLC are seeking shareholder support for their efforts to remove the board. They believe the company's stock is undervalued and that its current leadership is mismanaging the company.
