The NFL and Microsoft, through its next generation Xbox console, are combining to enhance interactive TV viewing of pro football games. Ahead could be the use of tablets on the sidelines by coaches and players, too. The league and Microsoft announced a multiyear agreement Tuesday in which Xbox will provide fans new viewing innovations, including the ability to interact with live games, Skype video chat with other fans, view statistics, access highlights in real time, and gather fantasy information about players and teams _ all on a single screen.

Idaho announces first round of IGEM grants

One of Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter's initiatives to boost government partnerships with industry and academia is dishing out $850,000 to projects designed to boost Idaho's economy and create jobs. The biggest single grant totals $250,000 for Idaho State University's partnership with TriboTEX and Campbell Scientific on a machining center that allows for sharp images of very small objects.
