The Office for National Statistics is set to issue U.K. producer price data for January at 4:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against its major counterparts. While the pound rose against the dollar and the yen, it fell against the franc and the euro.
Italian Industrial Production Falls Less Than Expected

Industrial production in Italy declined less than expected by economists in December, data from the statistical office Istat showed Friday. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, production rose 1.4 percent confounding economists' forecast for a 0.5 percent drop. Production stagnated in 2011 compared to the previous year.
Norwegian Inflation Quickens In January

Norway's consumer price inflation increased in January, data released by Statistics Norway showed Friday. The consumer price index increased 0.5 percent on an annual basis in January, faster than the 0.2 percent growth seen in December. Economists expected an inflation rate of 0.3 percent. Fuels and lubricants as well as maintenance and repair of personal transports, with price growths of 7.1 percent and 3.9 percent respectively, contributed most to the growth in prices.
