Australia Q1 Construction Work Jumps 5.5%

The total value of construction work done in the first quarter of 2012 saw up a seasonally adjusted 5.5 percent compared to the previous three months, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday, coming in at A$48.300 billion. On a yearly basis, the total value of construction work jumped 15.0 percent, while total building work fell 7.7 percent and engineering work done surged 35.6 percent.
