BERLIN (AP) — Ride-hailing app Uber could face a ban in the German capital after the head of the Berlin Taxi Association convinced a local court that the company's service breaks the law. Richard Leipold, who brought the case against Uber, says he doesn't have the money to enforce the interim ruling, because defeat could make him liable for huge compensation claims from the San Francisco-based company.

Minnesota labor force surpasses 3 million as unemployment rate for March remains static

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota's labor force now tops 3 million, while the unemployment rate for March held steady at 4.8 percent. Commissioner Katie Clark Sieben said Minnesota has 33,000 more jobs than its all-time employment peak. The labor force reached the 3 million milestone after a slow climb. Steve Hine, research director at the agency, said Minnesota hit 2 million people in its labor force in 1978 and reached 2.5 million in 1993. It has taken longer to get the rest of the way.

Bailed-out Cyprus to issue 6-year bond in June as first test in return to global debt markets

NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) — Bailed-out Cyprus says it will issue six-year government bonds every month starting in June as a first step to returning more permanently to international markets after a three-year absence. The Cypriot finance ministry said Thursday its first bond offering — to be open only to individuals, not companies — will be June 2.
